ABOUT KAND ACADEMY
KAND Academy is a selective development program for talented young rowers who have the ability, ambition and mindset to pursue rowing at a higher level.
Created as an extension of KAND Rowing Club’s established high-performance environment, the Academy provides emerging athletes with access to experienced coaching, mentorship and a culture built around excellence, commitment and continual improvement.
The Academy is designed for rowers who want to take their development beyond the traditional school or club pathway. Athletes train and learn alongside people who understand what it takes to progress through state, national and international rowing, benefiting from the experience of coaches, current elite athletes and past champions who have travelled that pathway themselves.
With capped numbers and entry by application, KAND Academy deliberately remains a focused environment where athletes receive greater individual attention and are surrounded by others who share their ambition.
Operating across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the Academy is about more than producing faster rowers. It is about developing confident, resilient and accountable young athletes who understand the standards required to perform at their best.

Expressions of interest are now open for the KAND Academy Summer Program.
Our next intake will offer a limited number of places across Brisbane and the Gold Coast for ambitious Year 9 and Year 10 girls who are ready to take their rowing to the next level.
The Summer Program provides athletes with access to elite-level coaching, exposure to KAND’s high-performance environment and the opportunity to take the first step towards joining the KAND Women’s Squad.
Places are intentionally limited to ensure athletes receive the attention, coaching and development opportunities that define the KAND Academy experience.
