About

KAND Rowing Club is a private elite high-performance QLD rowing club affectionately known as the
"tin-shed", consistently producing world-class and Olympic athletes.

KAND Rowing Club is an invitational High Performance Rowing club servicing Brisbane and the Gold Coast dedicated to helping athletes pursue excellence in rowing. Since its beginnings, KAND has grown into a program that consistently develops athletes for National, and International representation. Our focus is on creating a clear pathway for local youth and junior talent, supported by experienced coaches, a high-performance mindset, and a strong, unified club culture. Built on shared values, ambition, and a commitment to excellence, KAND provides an environment where dedicated athletes can thrive and reach their full potential.

Our Story

KAND Rowing Club was built on a simple belief: great athletes are developed through great coaching, a clear pathway, and a strong club culture.

From humble beginnings operating out of a small tin shed on the banks of the Brisbane River, KAND has grown into a program that consistently develops athletes who progress to State, National, and International representation. While the athletes, equipment, and achievements have grown over the years, one thing has remained the same - the tin shed.
Today, that shed may be bigger and fuller than it once was, but it continues to serve as a reminder of what truly matters. We believe success is not determined by the size of the building that houses the boats, but by the culture within it. Alignment, accountability, clarity of purpose, and a shared commitment to excellence are the foundations of everything we do.

Our focus remains on transitioning local youth and junior talent into National and International squads through a proven high-performance pathway.

The tin shed remains not out of necessity, but as a symbol of who we are, a club built on hard work, humility, and unity. While much has changed since our early days, our commitment to maintaining a strong, unified club culture remains at the heart of everything we do and will continue to define KAND for generations to come.
